Description
This is a rare serving spoon in Wallace Silver's Vogue II pattern was designed by William S. Warren (1887-1965). Vogue II pieces are extremely hard to find. This streamlined classical design was patented in 1935, and is marked: LUXOR PLATE - WALLACE. The large spoon measures 9 3/8" in length and is in very good vintage condition. This rare pattern is included in Jewel Stern's landmark book: Modernism in American Silver: 20th-century Design (New Haven: Yale University Press, 2005), pp. 123-125, as well as several American museum collections.
